The average price of gas in California reached the lofty perch of $4.61 a gallon on October 6, 2012 reportedly due to a volatile market and diminished supply.
Industry insiders have predicted that California drivers will face increasing gas prices for a good number of days further until costs plateau. At many spots in the formerly-Golden State motorists are paying more than $5.00 a pop. On Friday alone, the average price of a gallon jumped by 12 cents.
Meanwhile, the national average is nearly a dollar less a gallon at $3.81. Even more upsetting to Californians is the fact is that prices in other states are decreasing as is the norm in the month of Halloween.
