Honda has sold its first Fit EV electric car. Well, actually, the automaker did not actually sell a Fit EV, it’s not yet on sale; it actually leased one to a couple in Ventura, CA.
The car probably will not be much of a vehicle. After all, Honda did not even want to make the thing. It admits that the 2013 Honda Fit EV is a compliance car that it made to meet California’s zero-emission vehicle standards. In total, only 1,100 of the cars with a 118 mile per gallon rating will be produced. None of them, it is believed, will be up for sale, only for leasing.
The leases start at $389 per month – cheaper than many California auto loans.
