A 40-year-old California man was arrested early Sunday morning after taking his Lexus GS430 for a swim in an unsuspecting family’s backyard swimming pool. Turns out alcohol is suspected of being involved.
The driver, Modesto Cabral, allegedly drove his car through a cinder block wall and straight into the pool. A large portion of the wall remained embedded in the sunken car’s smashed windshield as law enforcement officers examined the scene a short time later.
The family living in the house featuring the pool-victim said that their house had long been a pseudo target due to being near a T-intersection. Talking about the house’s poor Feng Shui, the family’s 16-year-old daughter, Janelle Diaz, said, “We woke up to an awful noise and looked outside, and a car was in the pool. We had always joked around about it—that someone was going to end up in the pool—because they’ve hit our wall before.”
